I’m delighted to be writing the first in a new series of monthly columns on my work as the Member of Parliament for North East Hampshire, which covers parts of Hart, like Fleet and some of Yateley, and parts of Basingstoke and Deane too.
Yesterday, with regret, I resigned from my position as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Ministry of Justice. Having read the draft Brexit deal put before Cabinet yesterday, it is not something that I can support.
Summer recess is always a great time of year for me, because I get to spend more time across our constituency, speaking with constituents. It’s even better this summer, as I’ve launched my new ‘Recess Pub Tour’ too!
I care passionately about education and schools in North East Hampshire. As you may know, I grew up here and I was lucky to get a good education in local state schools—at Hook Infants, Hook Juniors and at Robert May’s in Odiham.
