As your local Member of Parliament, I have been working to make sure your views are heard in response to Farnborough Airport’s previously announced proposals to increase annual flight limits, operating hours and restricted aircraft weight category. You can still find the full details of the existing restrictions and the Airport’s proposals at: farnboroughairport2040.com
I recently met the senior leadership of the Airport to make sure they are fully aware of the concerns that have been raised with me by fellow local residents. They have now removed proposals to extend weekend flying hours, which is good news, but have submitted a planning application for other matters to their local authority – Rushmoor Borough Council, in this case – who are responsible for making planning decisions.
Rushmoor Borough Council has published full details of the process they will follow – at rushmoor.gov.uk/airportconsultation – and it is important that you make your views known directly to the Council in order to make sure they are considered as part of this formal planning consultation. The closing date for the consultation is Sunday, 17th December.
You can be sure that I will represent your and our fellow residents’ concerns in this process. To do this, I would like to be sure that I have properly heard all local views, so do please take 60 seconds to complete my survey on Farnborough Airport.
Please be assured that I want to listen to you, I understand your concerns and, with your help, I will make sure your views are heard by the Council.
