Hartley Wintney Playground Petition

I have heard from many residents who want a new playground to be built in Hartley Wintney.

Hartley Wintney Parish Council (HWPC) have plans to design a new playground and it was due to commence in 2021, but this was postponed as no funds have been made available by Hart District Council (HDC).

Sadly, HDC does not collect the Community Infrastructure Levy, unlike neighbouring Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council (BDBC), despite my requests that they should.

Hartley Wintney children should not suffer due to HDC’s poor decisions, so I hope you will sign this petition to encourage them to adopt the new Infrastructure Levy and provide funding for HWPC to build a new playground – which would benefit other communities that wish to invest more in community infrastructure too.

Hartley Wintney Playground Petition

  • Current Your details

To the members of Hart District Council.

The petition of the residents of Hartley Wintney and others across North East Hampshire.

Declares that HDC should fund a new playground in Hartley Wintney; and take steps to make sure other communities parish councils can secure funding to invest in similar community infrastructure.

The petitioners therefore request that HDC adopt the Community Infrastructure Levy and/or the new Infrastructure Levy as set out in the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill, which makes developers pay for the infrastructure necessary when building homes, so that the community secures improvements.

And your petitioners remain, etc.
